Sample Coaching Cycle

  • Goal Setting Pre-Planning Confererence

    Our team meets, virtually, with district or school-based admin to identify goals, frequency, and follow-up plans. This critical piece of the coaching cycle allows us to create an agreement on observations. Additionally, the pre-conference allows us to focus on what to watch for, provide feedback on, and have an effective and efficient 1-1 session with the teacher.

  • Classroom Observation

    Our team supports teachers directly in their classroom by observing instruction. Utilizing principles built on by Achieve the Core’s IPG, we focus on teacher development over evaluation. This method allows us to ensure an effective partnership targeting the rigor of grade level expectations and a classroom environment which encourages participations, collaboration, and engagement by all students.

  • 1-1 Teacher Session

    Our team meets with the classroom teacher 1-1 and shares observations, feedback, and strategies that we believe to be valuable to the teacher. During this time, we also collaborate with the teacher to discover solutions for common areas the teacher hopes to improve. This time focuses on providing instructors with actionable and individualized solutions to each teachers’ needs.

  • 1-1 School-Based Admin Session

    Our team meets with the school-based admin 1-1 and shares observations, feedback, and strategies that we believe to be valuable to the campus, as a whole. This session focuses on areas of improvement for individual teachers or additional supports teachers may need. Additionally, we collaborate to discuss next steps, future coaching cycles, supplemental resources, and professional development opportunities, if necessary.

Ongoing Support and Partnership

Here at Exponential Education, we do not believe in “one and done”. Our coaching plans are designed with the belief that Instructional Coaching is an ongoing process of collaboration to set goals, make a plan, monitor progress, and reflect to better support growth. With that, all of our coaching plans are developed in collaboration with district or school-based admin with the intention on repeating the cycle multiple times in a quarter, semester, or school year.

Additionally, just like with all of our offerings, we tailor our plans and coaching cycles 100% to the individual district/school needs.
